Jenna is our Practice Owner and Senior Speech Pathologist. She has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Hons) from the University of Queensland. She launched JMZ Speech Pathology in 2017 after working in the public sector in both Australia and in the UK.
I have worked in the Disability Sector for a number of years, and have a passion for ‘giving people a voice’. My special interests are working with young children with (and without) disabilities to promote language development and explore Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) options. I also enjoy working with fussy eaters, to promote a wider acceptance of foods and reduce the stresses around mealtimes.
I also work with adults with acquired brain injuries and dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), in order to increase their quality of life and be able to communicate with whomever they want.
I believe in using a multimodal, holistic approach towards therapy, which involves liaising with family members and professionals, and trialling a number of different options until we find the ‘perfect fit’. I believe in addressing person-centred goals and educating family members about how to provide the therapy required, rather than continuing to rely on professionals.
I absolutely love being able to follow my clients through their journey and see the progress that they are making, and see their confidence in their own abilities blossom.
I am recently married, and I enjoy travelling, baking, crossfit and pilates (I’ve recently become a pilates instructor!)
